TC Series Tub Grinders

The heart of a TC series tub grinder is the Torque Converter drive. This drive system allows the engine to perform at peak efficiency with multiplied torque. TC series engines operate near governed speed throughout the work cycle regardless of the load requirements, resulting in higher efficiency. Torque Converters also allow the engine to avoid lugging and needless racing while protecting the engine from shock loads and torsional stress.

Unlike fluid couplings used by other tub grinder manufacturers, HogZilla uses a true industrial Torque Converter – technology proven for decades in rock crushing and pioneered by CW Mill Equipment for tub grinders. The torque converter directly drives the hammermill, eliminating jackshafts and belts, reducing maintenance, and improving reliability. Grinding is often a hot and dirty job, and we have gone to great lengths to take control of the difficult conditions. TC Series tub grinders have the largest possible radiator pre-cleaner to help filter out the most dirt and contaminants.

The engine intake air is ducted from ahead of the radiator inside the pre-cleaner to capture the cleanest & coolest air available. The engine exhaust assembly is configured with a special cover to keep chips out of the engine enclosure and material away from exhaust heat. Other covers, shields, and deflectors also help to protect the machine from material build up & damage.

The auxiliary power package helps keep you and your operators safe by allowing for key functions, such as the rod puller, tub tilt, and tub rotation, to run with the main engine and hammermill off.

This power package also runs the onboard air compressor to allow for cleaning and power tools, providing convenience during maintenance.

Every TC Series tub grinder is equipped with a stacking elevator that can swivel up to 60 degrees.

This allows operators to build larger piles without repositioning the machine. Less time spent repositioning the grinder translates to higher productivity and increased throughput.

TC Series tub grinders feature a two-speed tub drive that gives operators precise control over material processing by providing a broad range of tub speeds. With high and low ranges and infinitely variable speed adjustment in each, the proportional tub control system allows the tub speed to be fine-tuned for maximum productivity.

The tub control system continuously monitors engine speed to prevent the mill from plugging. If engine RPM drops below an adjustable threshold, the system automatically slows, stops, or reverses the tub as needed until engine speed recovers, which helps reduce downtime.
